When Doctor Genevieve Lenard and Colin wake up after being kidnapped in Colin's secret house in England she and the rest of the team have to find the connection to Kubanov and determine what his endgame could possible be. The man they have been trying to catch, the man who has been studying them. An enjoyable continuation of the first two books, and some likable characters. I think I might be done with this series. While the general premise of having a borderline autistic main character in a mystery novel is interesting, and while the same can possibly be said of the setting involving the world of high art crime and dealing, the series doesn't seem to be going anywhere. It is still primarily focused on the "non-neurotypical" behaviour of our heroine, a shtick that has become stale at least a book ago and is by this, the third instalment, already positively annoying. Because of this focus, the story suffers. It revolves mostly around people sitting in a room, staring at a computer screen and analysing the data. The genius heroine, Dr. Genevieve Lenard, then usually makes "genius" conclusions from such data, and by genius I mean ones that every reasonably intelligent 8-year-old should be able to make. Nevertheless, her law-enforcement and art community friends are super impressed by them. Couple that with the fact that the same unpleasant experience (not gonna spoil it for you) happens to Genevieve exactly three times in this one novel (you'd think this genius would wise up and take some preventative measures, but no) and one can easily see that careful consideration is needed on whether this thing is worth one's time. no reviews | add a review

Forged masterpieces. Hidden messages. A desperate swan song. When world-renowned nonverbal communication expert Doctor Genevieve Lenard wakes up in an unknown location, drugged and kidnapped, it pushes the limits of her autism coping skills. For the last year, Russian philanthropist and psychopath Tomasz Kubanov has been studying Genevieve just as she and her team have been studying him. Now forged paintings and mysterious murders are surfacing around her team, with evidence pointing to one of them as the killer. Genevieve knows Kubanov is behind these senseless acts of violence. What she doesn't understand are the inconsistencies between his actions and the cryptic messages he sends. Something has triggered his unpredictable behavior, something that might result in many more deaths, including those she cares for. Because this time, Kubanov has nothing to lose.
