In Macomber’s romance novel, Jill Morrison wants to wed but she isn’t interested in man who puts his career first. When she comes in contact with a wedding dress complete with a legend attached to it, she’s stumped. According to legend, the first man you meet when you receive the gown is the man you’ll wed. But the first man Jill encounters after receiving the dress is Jordan Wilcox, a man devoted to his career. Now Jill is forced to confront her feelings and desires while ignoring the so-called magical dress. Can she find true love with Jordan or must she simple settle? A fun story that keeps you hanging. Boring pair of whirlwind romances between unbelievable characters with unrealistic motivations. The magic wedding dress was one of the more believable elements in the book. To be fair, I only bought it because Fictionwise was pretty much giving it away with a 100% rebate. I don't think Debbie Macomber is my kind of author. Far too chaste and precious for me. no reviews | add a review

The First Man You Meet;
The Man You'll Marry
The first story was cute, but the second one bothered me so much that I'm not keeping the book. "The First Man You Meet" is humorous fluff about Shelly, a DVD producer with an enchanted wedding dress, and Mark, the accountant she keeps bumping into. Both characters are likeable. "The Man You'll Marry" is about Shelly's friend Jill and Jordan, a business tycoon who she meets on a flight to Hawaii. Jill is supposedly the more sensible of the two friends, but her decisions certainly do not indicate that. I felt that the ending went beyond my ability to suspend disbelief, even for a light romance.
