However when an author starts repeating story lines, it's time for the author to quit the series. This book is in so many ways similar to Fury's book. Species locked up. Woman spy. Species hate woman. But wait woman really helping. Then love. Yea Fury's book just different names. no reviews | add a review

The plot wasn't as tight as I would have liked. It felt like things were being forced to fit the actions of the characters or something. There were several bits of unbelievability that I had trouble with. The existence of tunnels throughout the whole complex that the NS guys didn't know about? How convenient. Really the whole plan that the bad guy had was not real well thought out. Why would he need her to be in place for as long as he did before he turned the info over to the NS for blackmail? Truth is he wouldn't have needed to but it made her more pitiful so let's add it in. There were other wishy washy elements also but you get the gist.
There were too many sex scenes in this one. I found myself wishing the author would just fade to black. LD sometimes has just the right amount of sex and sometimes too much. I felt like there wasn't enough story here. So sex ended up being pretty much a filler.
The book also seemed to drag on. What's the point in a romance in having left over story after the two main characters declare their love? The climax of both the action plot and the romance plot should build together and pretty much finish together. This isn't real life, it's fiction and fiction is stronger if the classic elements of story telling are not ignored.
All that being said, I did enjoy the book and look forward to more. I just hope that LD thinks outside the box next time and elevates her plot. Get off of Sanctuary and the Reservation for heavens sake. ( )
