Her father has betrayed Queen Addiena and now the Queen wants her head - even if she had nothing to do with it. But Addolgar the Cheerful refuses to let Braith sacrifice herself - especially once she's saved his life. And so then the whole Cadwaladr clan get involved. I didn't like this as much as the other books in the series. I just didn't really like Braith or Addolgar as much as the others. Still, there was lots of action, plenty of humour and snark galore. I love the Cadwaladr clan and their interactions always make me smile. It's not the best book of the series, but entertaining all the same. 3 stars. Family Tree: Ailean and Shalin are the parents of fifteen children including including Hew, Adain, Cai, Rhys, Baudwin (named after Shalin's father), Ghleanna (#0.4: Dragon on Top), Maelona, Caerwyn, Addolgar (#0.2: A Tale of Two Dragons) and Bercelak (Chains and Flames found at the back of #1: Dragon Actually). Bercelak falls in love with Rhiannon - a white dragon who is the daughter of Addiena. Rhiannon and Bercelek have Fearghus (#1: Dragon Actually), Morfyd, Keita (#4: Last Dragon Standing), Eibhear (#6: How to Drive a Dragon Crazy), Briec (#2: About a Dragon) and Gwenvael (#3: What a Dragon Should Know). no reviews | add a review

Braith of the Darkness likes going through life unnoticed. Not an easy task for a She-dragon of royal descent. But the evil plots of her father are turning her quiet, boring life upside down, and she has now become the enemy of the most vicious queen her kind has ever known. But for once, Braith won't have to fight alone. Not when the warrior dragon of her dreams is willing to risk everything to save her neck. Addolgar the Cheerful wishes he could say he's helping the pretty royal strictly for honorable reasons-but he'd be lying. It's not his fault, though! He didn't tell Braith of the Darkness to have the most delicious tail he's ever seen! Yet before Addolgar can get his very strong claws on that tail, heads are going to roll. Just hopefully not theirs . . . No library descriptions found.

I really liked this novella this time. It is absolutely adorable. The way that the author writes the dialog is so entertaining.
I like that the hero is badass, but also silly. I love that this is kind of slowburn (at least for a novella). The hero was a bit slow to fully notice the heroine, but I like how devoted he became. ( )
