It started out promising with the story of a family of Dutch colonialists returning from Indonesie after being held captive in a camp by the Japanese. However as soon as the story changed to some 40 years later and told the story of the brother and his relationship to his father, the book lost my interest. (

Adriaan van Dis (1946) debuteerde als schrijver in 1984 met de roman Nathan Sid. Indische Duinen werd bekroond met de Gouden Uil en de Trouw Publieksprijs
