I really enjoyed this different way to teach about the "Mythological Monsters" of ancient Greece. The illustrations are done in collage form with lettering done by the author. This created eye-catching pages. I couldn't look away myself. At the end of the book it gives descriptions of each monster, it also gives a small quiz with questions about the monsters. I really loved the style of the way this book was written. It is really fun and I can see this being a fun book to have in the classroom. ( )

I loved the illustrations, the format of the pictures and words, the style of the book, and the font was even cute! Such an awesome, informative book! ( )

I loved reading through this book. It is a great tool to interest students in mythology and show them some of the characters. It includes fourteen different creatures seen in Greek Mythology. Each page introduces the character, gives background information on them (tells readers why they’re famous), and includes an image of that character. The illustrations are quirky and strange and very often use real pictures of people’s eyes in these images. Loved it! Recommend it!

Details: This book was written to interest children in grades 3-6 and is on a 5.2 reading level ( )

summary: This book gives details of all of the different mythical creatures from the mythical stories we read about and hear. This book uses great illustrations to show the different creatures in a different kind of way.

classroom connection: Compare the descriptions of the creatures to the creatures they read about in their own mythical stories.

This book introduces and explains the different monsters used in Greek Mythology. The pictures are interesting and it would be a good book to use to introduce Mythology to younger children. ( )

I wanted to like this book, but the irregular print and scattered pictures made it hard to understand. The collage illustrations and the linear backgrounds make it hard to look at the pages. ( )

A fun, sort of dictionary of mythological creatures in stories/myths of Ancient Greece. The pictures are interesting and will interest younger and older students learning about myths. ( )
