"Please don't tell me you're one of those pretentious readers who judge people by the books they like." I can't lie. I am a very tough sell when it comes to New Adult. 9 out of 10 books, I probably won't like. But I continue to wade through the sea of New Adult books looking for gems like this. and what an amazing story it is. Imagine if you meet a boy the day you are leaving the state. What if you have this instant attraction but...it doesn't matter, you're leaving. What do you do? If you're Fallon and Ben, you set a pact to find each other again in a year, on the same day. I love their little moments of conversations. I loved how witty and fun Ben was. I love how strong Fallon was even when she was crushed and falling, even when she was alone. Together they were amazing and their story too my breath away. 1/5 never reading another coho book again. SORRY!!!! i’m not the biggest fan of romance books in general so i’m not surprised that i didn’t enjoy this. I loved the concept of this book but it sadly never drew me in. In fact, i thought it was pretty boring up until the final portion when Fallon found Bens manuscript. I ABSOLUTELY HATED THE END!!! Maybe i’m just an evil spirited person but i don’t think i would ever forgive someone that set fire to my house causing 4th degree burns all over my body and ruining my entire career.. on top of that…. fallon…. was the one who apologized and the end….??????

This really was a pretty good story, I’m just disappointed. I liked the concept of seeing each other once a year but that romance felt pretty unrealistic even for an insta-love relationship. The plot had enough to keep me entertained the whole way through though since there was a lot going on.
I loved the character development we saw with Fallon! She turned out to be so much more confident by the end of the book!
What I Didn't Love
“For the sake of the ultimate plot twist”? Really? You mean the EXACT same plot twist I’ve seen in at least TWO of her other books? Can you tell I’m a little bitter? When I see plot twist I want some serious plot twisting! Instead, once this plot twist was revealed I’m pretty sure I groaned out loan. It’s not even a little bit different from Confess or Hopeless! The same thing happens! I honestly really liked Colleen Hoover but I think I’m done with her now. If I wanted to read the same thing over again, I’d reread the same book. This dropped my rating by two whole stars because it was actually pretty good up until this.
Who I'd Recommend To
I’d recommend this to anyone who knows that they love Colleen Hoover. If you didn’t like her other books then skip this one for sure because it’s the exact same thing. If you’re planning on reading a bunch of Colleen Hoover all at once then I recommend you throw that idea out the window because you’ll be easily bored like I was. I don’t think I’d actually recommend this one to anyone other than a current fan of hers. ( )
