Maybe I am just projecting my deep love for my hometown of New Orleans, but I believe this story is a perfect rendition of what everyone felt during and after Hurricane Katrina. My absolute favorite line from this book, that nearly brought a tear to my eye, is "Cornelius rose. He dried his eyes, for his spirit and his will were waterproof." I love the use of native New Orleans language throughout this book. The illustrations are joyful. Cornelius perfectly captures the spirit of the city. no reviews | add a review
