It got too repetitive, and some chapters could have been left out. The art was amazing though. ( ) This was an interesting one . . . I still have no clue what Tomie actually is, but Junji's storytelling was super intriguing and I couldn't put it down. ( I had to because of work.) I am not disappointed when I pick up Ito's manga. The story is about Tomie who can seduce nearly any man, and drive them to the point where they murder her - so she can multiply. Intentionally or not; I don't know—still a must-read for any Junji Ito fans everywhere. I wanted to rate this four stars due to unsolved questions about Tomie but I gave it 5 stars, because you can come up with your own conclusions or theories. Tomie was Junji Ito's debut work and certainly holds its own cemented place in his list of most famous publications. Definitely pick this one up if you are into femme-fatales and body horror. Haunting Original premise that is sure to impress horror lovers of all kinds- from the hard won to the more easygoing ones. no reviews | add a review

Tomie Kawakami is a femme fatale with long black hair and a beauty mark just under her left eye. She can seduce nearly any man, and drive them to murder as well, even though the victim is often Tomie herself. While one lover seeks to keep her for himself, another grows terrified of the immortal succubus. But soon they realize no matter how many times they kill her, the world will never be free of Tomie.
