It make you want to pack your bags and book a flight to one these countries and see it for yourself. ( ) Phillip Steele's Middle East offers information compiled into two chapters. The first chapter covers the history, cultures, lifestyles, etc of the peoples of the Middle East. Chapter two give a brief overview of modern countries located in the region. Interestingly, no information about the author was provided in the book. However, the Contents page had a disclaimer about the possibility of inappropriate material on websites listed in the text. The end of each chapter provides books and websites for further research. The combination of the disclaimer and lack of information on the author would prevent me from using this text in my classroom. Middle East is a book for middle school-aged children. The book begins with a thorough discussion of the geography, culture, history, politics, and religions of the region in an unbiased manner. It then transitions to a nation-by-nation profile that describes each country in detail. The book is full of interesting and vivid photographs. no reviews | add a review
