Sweet holy titfire. This series has me sucked in. I knew I liked dark but didn't know that I did this much. Suspense and dominance. I can't even describe this book and do it justice. Just know it is that good. If you don't have a feint heart read this. So good. ( )

Wow!

When Zorie gets angry, people need to watch out.

Once again, Zorie is at the mercy of mesmers. She and Grimm have been kidnapped, while Mavros is left for dead. Zorie is under the control of 2 mesmers, who "train" her. She keeps struggling to be free.

Grimm, meanwhile, really wants to be a mesmer so that he can have Zorie. He's already 1/2way there.

I kinda liked Grimm in the last book, but he keeps betraying Zorie and trying to justify it. He's turned into a total dickhole. I want to take poor Zorie and wrap her in a blanket, hide her away from all these men, and give her some nice hot chocolate. ( )

Zorie is lost, again

Wicked Hearts was dark, twisted and disturbing. This second book is all those things and more.

Zorie's story didn't go where I expected it to. The author has done a tremendous job here of immersing her characters in utter horror and degradation but retaining their humanity and a sense of hope.

That chess game.

Heed the warnings before reading. If you enjoy dark, I believe you're in for a treat. ( )
