I had a good chuckle at every one of the two page spreads illustrating what a confused child makes of homophones. The picture about "living off the land" took me a minute to get.

This is one of those books that may be funnier to adults than to children. I am not sure when children begin to understand the humor, but I think this deserves to be a classic ( )

Another cute book from Fed Gwynne. It's packed full of funny puns and fairly good artwork to match. I enjoyed it. ( )

personal response: I have loved Fred Gwynne's books since I was a child. I remember having to run to my parents and ask for an explanation of what certain references meant. Reading it now gave me a chuckle
elementary age reader

curricular connections: This is a great book for displaying use of homonyms and also the need for clarity when both speaking and writing ( )
