(Review by Zoe, aged 6) I think this is one of the best books I've ever read with my mum. It's about a boy who discovers that a mackerel can talk. I loved it because it was so real-life but also so imaginary. It's kind of like it's based on a real-life story, something that could happen – but also something that couldn't really happen. I love that kind of story. I could really imagine it. I love how Fishboy loves being under the sea and sometimes he thinks that it's even better than being in his real life on dry land. And I also love that he thinks it's wonderful to swirl around in circles with the shoal of mackerel. ( ) I bought this the second I knew it was released - and was planning to wait until I'd managed to get it signed before reading it (my mum is the author's godmother). Feeling fed up one evening though I curled up on the sofa with a small bag of mini eggs and this book and devoured them both in one sitting. 10/10 would read again and I don't care if I'm biased because Chloe is lovely :) I totally love Sir David and fish speak and magic tricks and friendship and I can't put into words how lovely this is. no reviews | add a review
