In this volume of the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, Mma Ramotswe is trying to locate a Zambian embezzler. Her agency is now located at her husband's Speedy Motors shop. Side stories involving the apprentice mechanic, Charlie, Mma Makutsi' dancing classes and a new employee, Mr. Polopetsi add humor and interest. There is also a bad person from Mma Ramotswe's past to add to the tension. I have really enjoyed each of Smith's books and characters and look forward to reading more. ( )

(audio)Mma Cuitsie gets engaged. Mdm Ramotswe deals with Charley and old ?husband?. Fun read.

Focus of this book is not so much the detective skills of Ramotswe but the introduction of new characters, Mr Polopetsi and Phuti Radiphuti. I didn't read this series in chronological order, hence it was interesting to find out how they were introduced into the series. ( )

I still adore these books, in fact they keep getting better. Gentle, clear and sweetly moral...always a peek into the days of others pleases me, and especially the ladies of the No 1 Detective Agency. ( )

High quality comfort reading. Has there ever been a "cosy" mystery novel cosier than the books in this series? ( )
