A secret cavern becomes the perfect spot to restore a midget submarine, bank robbers must be apprehended, a flying sorcerer looms over Mammoth Falls and that's just the beginning of five more mad, mad MAD adventures!! This is book three in the Mad Scientists' Club series. ( )

I used to read the adventures of the Mad Scientists' Club as a young boy in Boys' Life - the magazine of Scouting. As a youth and a Scout I loved the stories and the mix of science and adventure. I have read some of the stories in the first volume and one of the stories in this one as serial stories in Boys' Life, so I confess to a certain nostalgia. The stories are dated because of the changes in culture and technology but they are still entertaining and they take me back to another time when life was a bit more carefree. They are, of course, _targeted for young adults, but they are quick read and for many adults of today I believe they would harken back to a time when youth was a wonderful adventure. ( )

A fun book from my childhood, although I'm not certain it's aged especially well. The charm in it still lies in the escapades they get themselves into and the small-town setting. I'm no expert but I imagine the science still holds up rather well, and of course the illustrations are nice - the kind that should be in all kids books. ( )

There are not enough stars in the ratng system for the MSC books. Truly inspirational when read as a child and comforting to read as an adult. ( )
