This book takes you on the journey of this young boy as he learns with a learning disability. This book is very encouraging and information for students. (

My personal response to the book: I liked the book. It was a nice and gentle book to show this disability to others.
Curricular connections: The curricular connections includes learning about disabilities. A TL could have this book in the collection for students who may become identified as LD.

really well written book talking about learning disabilities. It follows Alex as he learns that he isn't stupid, he has a learning disability, at first he doesn't want to try anything to learn to read because he feels that he's just too stupid, but eventually his mom convinces him to try again in a special class. He comes to learn that it's ok to be different and just because he reads differently doesn't make him less intelligent than anyone else.
