Jaga, the title of both Simon Lehners new publication and photographic series, means hunter in Austrian. fascinated by the raw act of hunting, Lehner spent endless hours observing and documenting various hunters while out in the wild. As Lehner describes his work: Its not about the act of hunting or the pursuit of the animals, but about the rough feeling of a basic instinct that I felt emanated during the hunt. The feeling of going back in time, as if we reverted back to the beginnings of humanity, man against animal, animal against man, nature against both. Jaga is a richly illustrated book presenting a project Lehner worked on from 2013 to 2017.
