I love that these boys aren't perfectly adorable, but rather, that they're fairly normal healthy good kids. I don't love how long it's taken me to remember which is which... despite there being two authors, the voices of each are not very distinct. Their groups of friends are hard to keep straight, too. Also it's a very long book for a YA romance. There's not even any space given to a romantic triangle, at least not yet. I have no idea how I'm going to like it when it all gets sorted out, but so far so fine. --- Good ending. So good I don't think I want to read the sequel. "... the group hug feels a little forced. But maybe that's not a bad thing. We're fighting to be close again...." I also really like the idea of do-overs. Not just do-over first dates, but another one that I can't tell you about because spoilers. it’s funny. it’s gay. it’s a coming-of-age first love kinda book. and ITS GAY! i love a good YA feel good cheesy love story as much as the next guy and having my kind of relationship in it makes it so relatable and so good. there were times i was literally sitting on the couch laughing and giggling to myself while enduring weird glances from my roommate. i accidentally finished this book in one sitting because i quite literally could not put it down until i knew what happened between them. i got the silly little butterflies with them and i was visibly sad and angry with them. honestly this is one of the best books i’ve read this year (maybe ever)! not the best book i’ve read. pretty cliche. but some parts of it were pretty funny and the main couple had decent chemistry. it was also decently realistic. arthur was annoying and stupid and douche-y. however, he’s like 16 and i can definitely see that kinda emotional douche-iness happening. it was entertaining and that is enough :) no reviews | add a review

HTML: A New York Times, USA Today, and Indie bestseller! Critically acclaimed and bestselling authors Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera combine their talents in this smart, funny, heartfelt collaboration about two very different boys who can't decide if the universe is pushing them together—or pulling them apart. ARTHUR is only in New York for the summer, but if Broadway has taught him anything, it's that the universe can deliver a showstopping romance when you least expect it. BEN thinks the universe needs to mind its business. If the universe had his back, he wouldn't be on his way to the post office carrying a box of his ex-boyfriend's things. But when Arthur and Ben meet-cute at the post office, what exactly does the universe have in store for them . . . ? Maybe nothing. After all, they get separated. Maybe everything. After all, they get reunited. But what if they can't nail a first date even after three do-overs? What if Arthur tries too hard to make it work and Ben doesn't try hard enough? What if life really isn't like a Broadway play? But what if it is? What if it's us? Plus don't miss Here's to Us! Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera reunite to continue the story of Arthur and Ben, the boys readers first fell for in What If It's Us. .No library descriptions found.

i hated the ending though. i hate when books leave on a bittersweet note, but i’m glad there’s a sequel.
lots of points taken off for how much harry potter is in there. would be rated much higher if it wasn’t. it’s nauseating and definitely ruined the immersion for me, but otherwise well-written. ( )
