Young attorney Ami Vergano must decide who to believe when her tenant and new friend Dan Morelli goes berserk at her son's Little League game, and she is contacted by tabloid reporter Vanessa Kohler, a former mental patient, who claims Morelli is one of a team of assassins who answer only to General Morris Wingate, a presidential candidate who also happens to be Vanessa's father.

The story switches back and forth between Dan’s version of a team of assassins and the General’s version of Dan being affected by PTSD and his daughter also being traumatized by witnessing a killing. This was a combination of action and legal drama. It was a bit far-fetched but entertaining. ( )

The writing style is too simple and I couldn't get into the story. DNF'd at 9%

A widow with a young son takes in a renter, with training unlike any other. When that training comes back, the widow is thrown in the middle of a seemingly paranoid tale of secret government military units. The characters were well done and so likeable when the should be and despised when they should be. Even the supporting characters had enough depth that I found myself wanting to know even more about them (and cheering them on). ( )
