This was our family's first Moomin and definitely won't be our last. I found it delightful and charming, and am glad I happened to pick this one for my daughter without realizing it was so close to the beginning of the canon. (

Maybe one has to be Scandinavian - or at least European - to appreciate these. The Moomins are cute but I have NO idea what is going on. Maybe it's a translation issue? Reminded me of another comic full of non-sequiturs and incomprehensible humor (is it supposed to be humor?), Daydreams of a Solitary Hamster.
