Barn cat isn’t distracted by any of the wildlife that she encounters throughout her day—one green grasshopper, two brown crickets, etc. At the end, as barn cat ignores “a flock of sparrows—8, 9,10” we learn that what she really wants is a bowl of milk from her mistress. The story is neither interesting nor credible; what cat won’t chase a jumping bug? However, the artwork is charming and the cadence will have you “barn catting” long after you’ve reached the last rhyme. (Ages 1 -5) no reviews | add a review
Because she's looking for something special, the great barn cat notices but shows no interest in the activities of the animals which can be counted around her. No library descriptions found. |
