Only reason why I read it was because of the promise of tailoring, and sewing being the main focus. Well it wasnt. I wont be reading the sequel ( ) My first impressions (Writing down my first impressions of the book. NOT an in-depth review) RANK: Beautiful I really enjoyed the book. I'll highlight things I like and things I didn't like. Not in any order. What I like 1. The competition between all the tailors. It was fun to see who would move on and to see if anyone cheated. 2. The places Maia got to see and visit 3. The entire journey Maia went through 4. how edan change through out the book Things I didn't like 1, Lack of worldbuilding. There's not much. They lightly touch on the world. 2. Not know knowing enough of Edan and the enchanters. Over all, I say this is worth your time. it's a fun read. Lets see how she continues the story in book 2. Follow me on: Blog| Instagram Actual Rating - 4.5 A lot of YA fantasy is getting a little overdone but I fell in LOVE with Spin the Dawn! It was such an original idea and felt like a fairy tale I had grown up with. I love myself a good competition so starting the book with the goal to be the kings tailor was a fun beginning. It got very serious very quick and then turned into a quest of sorts to find the right materials to make these enchanted dresses?? Like yes?? Sign me up please! It was perfect! The characters were all very interesting as well! They each had certain secrets that you were trying to figure out from the moment they were introduced. Why is the king so charming all the time? Who is this enchanter guy? What is up with the queen to be? SO many questions and it was a fun time trying to figure everyone out. My only concern now is how is the rest of the series going to live up to this first book! i really like this book :) it was a tad cheesy at times and i didn’t always find eden that attractive. but i was really enthralled by this book. i was constantly wondering what could be next and cocking my head being like “hmmm~~~ that’s definitely something important and the book just isn’t saying it yet” i think those are really good qualities to have in a book. i also think it also great reread potential. i can definitely see myself coming back to this later (however that’s still dependent on the rest of the series no reviews | add a review
