The story was great, too! ( ) This volume collects a series of comics featuring a dream team-up of two of my favorite Marvel heroes, Ms. Marvel and The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl! Nerdy high schooler Kamala Khan naturally takes a special computer course taught by none other than college computer science major Doreen Green. And things start going wrong in the class due to another student, an Inhuman named Ember, who is being manipulated by an internet friend to use her new powers to become the supervillain, Emulator. Her powers make it possible for her to bring video game characters into the real world. This sets up some entertaining sequences of Ms. Marvel, Squirrel Girl, and their fellow super heroes Inferno and America into a video game environment. Ember's story is a good symbolic look at the abuse and exploitation that women suffer in the gaming community. I like seeing Ms. Marvel and Squirrel Girl, but somehow in this volume they are each less interesting than in their own series. Nevertheless, a fun team-up and an engaging story. no reviews | add a review
When Doreen Green (also known as the Unbeatable Squirrel Girl) volunteers as head counselor for an extracurricular computer programming class, little does she know that junior counselor Kamala Khan moonlights as crime fighting super hero Ms. Marvel. But this coding configuration is more than just ones and zeros when a mysterious new super villain shows her face. Will our heroes be able to save the day without blowing their secret identities? Join Ms. Marvel and Squirrel Girl (with some special guest appearances) as they learn what it truly takes to become the next generation of Marvel heroes! No library descriptions found. |
