This one is a better attempt than Drawing Near, and still quite a bit better than the typical devotional. Typically, writers take verses out of context, write 300 words on the verse that really doesn't have any meat to them. MacArthur takes a much different and much better approach, sometimes taking weeks to work through a particular passage rather than just moving on after one day.

I would recommend it for those who are into devotionals, as it is one of the best ones I've read, but for those who aren't -- just pick up some of MacArthur's other books or download his sermons. ( )
