Each chapter walks through a different situation and applies the gospel. They start the book with a gospel presentation and then use that as the basis for every chapter. Its a beautiful book with so many amazing practical and theological/spiritual applications. An absolutely wonderful book that I would suggest any woman to read whether in the trenches of motherhood or past being a mother, its message is beautiful- the gospel applies to all of life. “The transition you just want to end isn’t a throwaway season—it’s a time full of God’s purposes, when hindsight will tell a story of sin and need driving us to the Father and making us love more like the Son.” “It might be mundane to fold laundry, but it’s extraordinary to do it patiently with joy and a heart of love. It might be mundane to sit on the couch and read another book to a whiny four-year-old, but it's extraordinary to show kindness and mercy to an undeserving sinner. It might be mundane to fill the fridge with groceries, but it’s extraordinary to praise God for his provision. Our everyday moments might be ordinary, but when we accomplish them while displaying the fruit of the Spirit, they reflect our extraordinary Savior” “Because while service with littles in tow is harder than it used to be, I trust that God uses it to plant seeds of generosity, kindness, and selflessness in their lives. I trust that God will use it to help them see how we can be the tangible hands and feet of Christ.” no reviews | add a review
Motherhood is hard. In a world of five-step lists and silver-bullet solutions to become perfect parents, mothers are burdened with mixed messages about who they are and what choices they should make. If you feel pulled between high-fives and hard words, with culture's solutions only raising more questions, you're not alone. But there is hope. You might think that Scripture doesn't have much to say about the food you make for breakfast, how you view your postpartum body, or what school choice you make for your children, but a deeper look reveals that the Bible provides the framework for finding answers to your specific questions about modern motherhood. Emily Jensen and Laura Wifler help you understand and apply the gospel to common issues moms face so you can connect your Sunday morning faith to the Monday morning tantrum. Discover how closely the gospel connects with today's motherhood. Join Emily and Laura as they walk through the redemptive story and reveal how the gospel applies to your everyday life, bringing hope, freedom, and joy in every area of motherhood. I could have read it during pregnancy as a precursor
I definitely relate as a mom of a toddler who has torn my house apart (in all the most adorable ways)
I could read it when I'm older and further along in my motherhood journey.
There are so many encouraging tidbits to be gleaned from it. This book takes it all back to the cross. As it should. For once, I was not made to feel bad that I was a working mother. (Many motherhood books are so "stay at home motherhood" that if you are not that, you feel less than). Here, well, it was about Christianity and rooting our motherhood journey, our expectations, our struggles, in Christ.
THANK YOU AUTHORS FOR THAT! Because, just as there are many ways to be a good mother, there are many ways to be a mother that cares for her children. ( )
