No current Talk conversations about this book. 1125 Politicians at War July 1914 to May 1915: A prologue to the triumph of Lloyd George, by Cameron Hazlehurst (read 26 Aug 1971) I undertook reading this book with great enthusiasm, thinking it a study of how England entered World War I. It does study the entrance, but goes on to May of 1915, when the Coalition government, with Asquith still as Prime Minister, was formed. In a way, it was too English-oriented, and I am not enough of an English political specialist to follow it entirely. And while it delves carefully into the questions, it comes up as a kind of mosaic. I would like to read a good biography of Lloyd George some day. [But as of May 2009 I have not yet done so!] ( ) no reviews | add a review
