Holy jumping Hannah I love it when a book comes out of nowhere and knocks me on my behind. This was that book. I had no idea what I was getting into when I started this book. Hell, I had no idea even as I was reading it. All I knew was that I was engrossed trying to figure out what was going on, more importantly, WHY it was happening. I'm still not sure who is good, bad, and indifferent. All I do know is that I love Quinn and Nick. Looking forward to getting the answers in the next book. This is an unusual story. Part 1 of a duet. It lays the groundwork of their relationship then ends on a cliffhanger that leaves the readers with questions about what is going on. I think it may depend on how book 2 develops the story as to how I eventually rate this book. There is other woman and other man drama. The heroine is engaged at the start but then believes herself married to a different man in a different place/life. The Hero, Nick has a girlfriend who is pushing for more but he isn't interested in taking things further. So as to cheating, neither act on their knowledge of each other, but both are having dreams about their lives together, including intimate moments, and they discuss them in real life, outside their dreams but they are supposed to be married so it's difficult to say as it feels more like cheating with the fiance and girlfriend than each other. But emotional cheating maybe. I'm not keen on this sort of scenario, being with one person but being in love with another or wanting to be with someone else but it is complicated and part of the time travelling/parallel universe troupe so.... The only intimate scenes are between the Hero and heroine. It really does leave you with no clue to what is going on and what their situation exactly is. Quinn has grown up all her life knowing that some thing was kind of strange with her. She has memories of another life. With a husband who is not the man that she is about to marry. But not too long before her wedding, she starts to have more episodes of this other life with this other husband. And then she meets the other husband. And as it turns out, he’s also been having dreams about her. So the two go on a little mission to try to figure out what’s going on.
This book was really good and I really loved Nick and Quinn, even though they both were technically with other people for the majority of this book. I couldn’t resist them the same way they couldn’t seem to resist each other. This book does end on a cliffhanger, so I’m on to book 2 now. ( )
