You never know what to expect when your reading it. Jayson is suppose to be watching/protecting Elizabeth but he is thinking about in all the wrong ways. There are sparks when they meet if if he irritates her sometimes. Emotions run high, reactions to those emotions is hotter then hot. When your dealing with immortals your not sure what will happen next .But there are always the bad guys, they could be immortal , mortal or something else so be prepared for running, hiding, shooting, screaming, loving , hating, and more actions or feelings all through the book. Be prepared for anything because sooner or later anything is going to happen ( ) This is the third book in this fascinating series and have to say it's my favourite so far. In this one, we finally get to find out more about Lizzie Watkins, best friend of Stas and unknown classified experiment, Jayson an ancient Hydraian elder is the one tasked with babysitting duties while all else join forces to try and decipher the best way to keep Lizzie safe and protected while also trying to discover just what she actually is. Jay's charge is off limits which only makes her more irresistible to him and while he tries his hardest to damp down his natural inclinations around her spending so much time with his Red only makes him fall deeper down that rabbit hole. So When Lizzie's eyes are cruelly opened to the paranormal world she has been oblivious to, she naturally is devastated at the betrayal of the people she thought cared about her. Losing all trust in those she thought had her corner. So this one was really emotional, Lizzie has really had a number done on her in regards to her own worth and self-esteem. It doesn't help that Jay while falling deeply for her is also on his own path of self-discovery, monogamy is new to him and while he did behave himself here his naturally flirtatious manner has been ingrained into him and its almost second nature to him now. His manner around the ladies though harmless causing him to unintentionally damage Lizzies fragile emerging trust. What I liked about Jay though was when he realised this he took steps to rectify the hurt he had caused by his unthinking actions. This one was also the hottest in terms of content and I just adored Jay's take charge attitude. I could really feel the connection between Lizzie and Jay there chemistry projected off the page. They made a great pair. And In terms of suprises, this one really was Jam-packed and I really am super intrigued now to see where this all is heading. I Love this series so much it really is a great read with some fantastic imaginative world-building. This one definitely gets the seal of approval. I voluntary reviewed a copy of Blood Heart (Immortal Curse, #3).
