Mac and Mac are characters in the vein of Amelia Bedelia, in that they take phrases too literally and cause problems as a result. But all ends well for them despite the initial issues.
These graphic novels, with their short chapters that are almost like little vignettes (although they do tie together eventually), are great for young readers as an introduction to this format.
An authors' note at the end of the book explains the long history of noodlehead stories over the years, which makes for an interesting lesson.
That all being said, this was probably my least favorite book in the series. It was still entertaining, but it wasn't quite as funny and charming as the others. ( )
