Turns out it's too academic for me. It's an secondary analysis of some of the literature, not a history. Lots of jargon. Lots of assumptions that the reader is familiar with previous explorations in the field. I looked at every picture, read every caption, read a few paragraphs related to most pix, and had more than enough.
