While classified as a "reference" book this is more than that and in its comprehensiveness it id quite marvelous. If you play the piano, enjoy listening to piano music, or just wonder what a piano is this is the book for you. I like to dip into it for reading pleasure or to find out about the wonders of piano literature and the great pianists who have brought their magic to bear on this music. (
