I was very excited to read this book about the mysterious death of Dag Hammarskjold in the Congo in 1961. I found that Mr. Somaiya was meticulous in his details of the years of investigation of Dag's tragic death. Some world powers wanted to know what happened in September 1961, and many did not. In fact they buried intelligence information. At the end of the book I was no clearer as to what happened than what I thought before I started. The meticulous detail that was in the book went nowhere. I realize that this is non-fiction and the whole thing wth Dag Hammarskjold is still not clear, it would have been nice to see somewhat of a closure. I was disappointed with the lack of resolution of this vey tricky situation. Too much detail and not nought "ah-ha" moments. no reviews | add a review

There is an amazing Golden Thread that pulls all the investigation, first-person accounts, transcripts, etc. over the years into what accounts as the tragic and disturbing murder of a very, very good man. ( )
