I like the character, Magnus, very much, but he needs a bit of an 21st century upgrade when it comes to the females and women his life (sorry, but running around full grown women girls is a great way to get slammed upside the head). On the other hand, he did grow up and die in a much earlier era, so he's got some cultural training to overcome.
Otherwise, this is an enjoyable UF with plenty of magic, an interesting antagonist, good characters who I look forward to seeing more of, and Magnus, the einherjar who ran away from Valhalla ... (
