For children and adults alike. Wonderful, informative. ( )

This book has an extensive amount of information about Lewis and Clark; so much that it is named the "museum in a book." I like it because it provides a good biography about both Lewis and Clark for students to really learn more about them as people, not just explorers. I would use this in a 4-7 grade class with a unit on biographies.

Experience the epic adventure through removable journal pages, maps and artifacts.

This book is pretty good, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend checking it out from a local library, as I had done.
At first glance, the copies of original documents were interesting, but practically unintelligible in the antiquated handwriting styles of the day.
After reading the text, I was interested. Accounts of adventures are told in a captivating style that will interest young readers. The corresponding original texts then become more interesting. However, many of the documents in my library copy were missing, or placed in the wrong places. Nonetheless, a great book, but needs to be prefaced with a conversation with young readers about caring for books, ho hum.

**Also fun to point out with students, is the choice by the author and editors to transcribe quotes from the journals of the two explorers without editing their spelling.

A very nice book done in the style of Bantock's "Griffin & Sabine", it is a great way for a child to learn history. ( )
