The art continues to be beautiful and the characters are charming. I wish the story had more going on but the drip of lore is keeping me interested. ( ) Something scary in the basement is messing with the ghosts and humans of Rycroft Manor, and Daphne Walters' religious roommate turns destructive when she finds out ghosts exist. I have to wonder if this series came to a premature end, because the finale doesn't feel organic with its abrupt turns and a very convenient knife that should have been introduced in an earlier act if one wanted it to do so much stabbing in the last. I like the characters, but this feeble wrap-up feels like a disservice to their potential. no reviews | add a review

GLAAD Award-nominated Sina Grace (Iceman) and illustrator Siobhan Keenan (Jem and the Holograms) conclude the acclaimed series that proves true love and friendship never dies! Daphne Walters' life is complicated enough, living at Rycroft Manor with her ghostly friends and trying to figure out why everyone in LA is always 30 minutes late for everything important. So it's TOTALLY the perfect time for Daphne to lose one of her new friends, for the mystery of the ghost behind the basement door to be revealed, and for Daphne to decide her entire future, RIGHT? And did we forget to mention that Daphne's former roommate Michelle plans to exorcise the friendly ghosts from Rycroft? Yeah, there's that too. Collects issues #9-12. No library descriptions found. |
