It is so difficult to find a series where each book with different characters continue to become better than the last and even though I loved every book so far I was excited to read about Ronan. In previous books he is the laid back, hilarious, sweetheart that hides a lot behind his gorgeous smile but I just knew there was some sort of darkness that haunted him. When we find out my heart breaks for him and I started to understand him a lot better. Teal has a darkness too that we knew a little about and then we discover just how difficult it still is for her to deal with. These two come from very different worlds and hate each other but the tension is tangible and undeniable. Teal has her own agenda and Ronan just wants to live his life the way he wants to so they continue to butt heads throughout. My heart hurt for everything they deal with and how they don’t handle it well but can they find something that works for them or will they let their need to be independent and free keep them apart? This author has created a world with amazing characters that sometimes you love to hate or just absolute fall hard for and Ronan is perfection. I’m excited to see what in the world Cole is up to in his book and see more of the four horsemen. Ronan and Teal Teal is the foster sister of Elsa and twin of Knox who appeared in book 3. Now that Elsa's whole backstory has been revealed, other characters are getting a chance. Ronan is the son of an Earl. He really has his whole life planned out for him but of course, behind all his jokes, smiles, and requests for threesomes, there's a sad story. Teal has childhood trauma at the hands of Elsa's mother. But there's more to it than that. She has an agenda when she steals the marriage contract between Ronan and Elsa. And Ronan isn't having any of it. They discover more about themselves than they knew, together. In the end, the whole revenge plot Teal has is badly put together and there are so many holes in the creation of it; one of the privileges of these types of romances is that authors can get away with plot holes because the reader isn't really looking for this whole plot point, they're there for the sex. We like to see it developed more, please. The dialog consists of a lot of petty back and forth with not much said - it makes it seem like the characters are growing but in reality, they just get hornier and a lot of the development is lost in badly paced exposition dumping. As always, check for trigger and content warnings on your own; do yourself a favor and really do that. 18+ recommended. **All thoughts and opinions are my own. Read on my personal KU subscription.** Sweet Holy titfire. How does this author keep getting better and better? No, really, I am being serious with this question. There is a reason that I become so immersed in reading this that real life ceases to exist. This entire series has been phenomenal but every single one just ups the game in regards to emotions that much more. I have loved Ronan from the getgo. There was just something about his joking, happy-go-lucky demeanor that drew me to him. Teal, was an enigma that I couldn't figure out. She was totally opposite of Knox and seemed so aloof and indifferent. Getting the backstory of these two made the reasons why have that much more of an impact. In yet another book, this author has made me feel physical pain. I have teared up at how eloquently she depicts horrible situations without teetering over that fine line of giving too much information and not giving enough. She makes me feel the pain, and the subsequent fears, demons, and baggage attributed to that pain, but also offers me a sense of solace and understanding. That takes skill. And skilled this author is. I cannot recommend this book enough. It is definitely my favorite of this collection and that says a lot because I have loved them all. I cannot wait to see what is coming for the Captain next. It says it is the last of the series which saddens me since that means Knox won't be getting a story told unless he pops up later down the line. Regardless, I will read whatever this author writes. This is in my best of 2020, and with the hundreds of books I have read this year, that says something. no reviews | add a review

He's prince charming. Just not hers. I have a secret .I stole a heart, or rather a marriage contract. It wasn't mine to own, to look at or to even consider. But it was there for the taking so I took it. Huge mistake. Ronan Astor is a nobility in this world. Arrogant player Heartless bastard. Vicious prince. Now, he's out to destroy me. What he doesn't know is that I'm out to destroy him too. My name is Teal Van Doren, and I'm where princes go to die. Vicious Prince is part of Royal Elite Series but could be read on its own. For a better understanding of the world, you might want to read the previous books first. This is a mature new adult and contains situations that some readers might find offensive or triggering.
