The book is about friendship between an alligator and a bird. I like this book because it can symbolize having a unique friendship with your friends that may not make sense to others. I would have this in my classroom if I was teaching the proper age for the book. This early graphic novels shows the relationship between Ally and Beak, two unlikely friends. I would recommend this book to a 2nd grade classroom because of the meaning. It is also easy to follow along with the book because of the simple panels, pictures and words. This book can also give students an early start to graphic novels and get them excited and curious about bigger graphica books. This book is about a little bird to comes across an alligator. The alligator was very upset, but by the end they become friends and the alligator backs up the little bird as he was bullied by another bird. I think this book is great for a 1-2 grade reading. It is very simple, fun, and easy to read pictures. Yes, this is another odd couple/buddy comedy beginning reader. There are so many it seems! As with Elephant and Piggie, it's fun to read it like a script, each of us with our part. The legacy of Frog & Toad is strong. no reviews | add a review

"Ally the alligator is perfectly happy being alone... until one day a noisy bird named Beak lands on her snout. Much to Ally's annoyance, this chatty bird likes to sing all the time and has chosen a nearby tree to build his new nest. Even worse, he insists that he and Ally will be best friends. In fact, he has all kinds of friendship goals in mind, and it seems nothing Ally says will convince him that she'd rather just be alone. Nothing beats peace and quiet... except for maybe a new best friend?"--Provided by publisher. No library descriptions found. |
