An isolated, hidden house in the woods, half a family murdered, a cancelled wedding, lots of suspense, a major personal loss… “Hush Little Girl” is one more mystery/thriller from Regan’s production line - she writes three to four books in this series per year. Thus, it cannot really surprise anyone that while these books are fairly entertaining, they’re all derived from the same formula. If, by now, you like Josie Quinn and her team you won’t be disappointed by this instalment either. Apart from one rather disruptive (and overly drawn-out) change in Josie’s personal life nothing ever really changes in this series either, though. For the entertaining but utterly forgettable book it is: Four out of five stars. Hush Little Girl by Lisa Regan Detective Josie Quinn #11 Excellent, thought provoking, intricately woven story with twists, turns, red herrings and so many complications to overcome – this story grabbed my attention and kept it till the very end! What I liked: * The foreshadowing in the first scene * The wedding plans coming to fruition for Lisa and Noah * Josie: dedicated, empathetic, complicated, professional, loving, good leader, tenacious, perfect for Noah * Noah: stalwart, dependable, professional, dedicated, loving, loving, perfect for and with Josie * Seeing Josie’s family and the part some played in the story * The police procedural aspects of the story * Sawyer: I find him interesting and want to know how his story will play out * Emily: tough cookie, only eight, felt for her * Pax: more to him than his father and others gave him credit for * Rory: complicated character that I felt for but could also fear * The complexity of the case… * All the interwoven strands that had to be untangled and eventually were tied together * Being drawn in and feeling a part of the story * Josie’s team and getting to see how they were doing * All of it really except… What I didn’t like: * The person I was meant to dislike…easy to do and definitely found the person reprehensible * The choices Lorelei made that had, in my opinion, a negative impact on many * The loss of some lives that should have been able to live longer * Having to wait for the next book Did I enjoy this book? Yes Would I read more in this series? Definitely Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC – This is my honest review. 5 Stars Once again I didn’t make any notes as I was reading because I WAS READING A BOOK I COULD NOT PUT DOWN. Lisa Regan is a master at the crime, mystery, thriller series and Josie Quinn is her perfect foil. There are bodies, there is blood, but there is also a little girl who is missing. About four feet tall and 50 pounds, 6 year old Emily is the sole survivor of a murder scene. They bring in the dogs, they search all over, finally Josie fits the pieces together and a lost child is found. She has the answers but she can’t talk about the “bad things”. One, two, three, four. She worries that Josie won’t be ready for the bad things when they come. One, two, three, four. And she is sure they will come. One, two, three, four. Emily puts her index finger against her lips - hush. No more questions are to be answered. The tragedies keep coming and yet with a promise asked, given and made, the grief inspires a modicum of hope. Regan manages to pull all the emotions together while shining a light on a serious mental illness disorder treating it equally with caution and compassion. She is a great writer who is able to project her caring and involvement in important issues. I have read the last four of Regan’s books in this series and I am now determined to start from the beginning as I continue to sing her praises to anyone and everyone. Thank you NetGalley and Bookoutre for a copy This is the eleventh in the Detective Josie Quinn series; it is the fourth I have read. Josie and Noah are about to be married when the body of a young girl is found outside the church in the resort where the nuptials are to take place and Josie is off on the case….. Once again the story combines Josie’s personal life with her professional. It is fast paced, engrossing, and heart wrenching, with a unique plot. Josie is a strong, capable female protagonist. This reads well as a standalone but I think it will be appreciated more by those who have read others in the series and are familiar with the recurring characters in Josie’s life. I highly recommend Lisa Regan’s books to those who enjoy mysteries/police procedurals. no reviews | add a review

Bad things are happening and as usual it's up to Detective Josie Quinn and the rest of her team to piece together what's going on. A child's body is found on the grounds of a resort and Josie realizes she has met the child a few months prior when her car broke down. How did the child end up at the resort and where is her mother and sister? The team keeps getting more questions than answers the deeper they look.
I could not put this book down! I wanted to call work and tell them I wasn't coming in until I was finished. It had me guessing and guessing. I thought I had things figured out and then... wrong! If you love a good crime thriller then the Detective Josie Quinn Series is for you. 5 stars for Hush Little Girl book #11 in the series.
