I've realized that not only does each book have a day of the week, each day is afflicted with one of the seven deadly sins. I kind of like this theme thing. I'm also beginning to think that this whole series might take place over the course of a week of "our time". This was an enjoyable book with interesting characters and I think it's shaping up to be a good series as a whole. ( ) We listened to this as well as read it. Feels like a hopeless situation, and yet manages to bring hope and skill and optimism into it at the end. The continuing saga of Arthur Penhaligon as he fights against wrong in a struggle that did not seem to be his own. The images Nix paints of The Pit, the ceiling, the glass pyramid, and the treasure house are so vivid. And you're swept along with the excitement, even when the whole situation seems dire and untenable. Wonderful. Of course they're all going to take place over a week (Earth time)... There's really not much different between Mister Monday and Grim Tuesday. Arthur is starting to accept his fate while at the same time learning more about the rules of the House. It interesting to see him change even in just the first two books thus far. It's nice to see a bit more of Suzy and also a bit more of the House. I see how they're going to have a different setting and antagonist each day, with an overarching world to tie them together. It's a neat idea and I want to see it all of the way through. Also, apparently the Morrow Days are the 7 Deadly Sins? Was that ever explicitly mentioned? Sloth and Greed down, 5 to go. no reviews | add a review
