I love this book. I've read it many times since my childhood. I think that not just every girl, but every person should read it. It's especially good if you have siblings (I'm the oldest of 3 girls) or even better to understand a sibling relationship if you don't have siblings. ( )
"Little Women" is the story of the four March sisters - Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy. Whether they are putting on plays, forming the Pickwick Club or entertaining Laurie, the lonely boy next door, the sisters and their mother play and work together to maintain an interesting and fun household while their father is away at war.
I think this is one of those books that hits different when you read it at different points of your life. You will identify with each character differently, depending on your current situation or struggles. It definitely stands the test of time. I really want to try an audio of this. It's good every time I read it. ( )
Almost every single line is overflowing with passion, the choice of words, the portrayal of characters, and the eloquence of emotions, all of this just makes me wonder how is it even possible for someone to write so elegantly with a simple yet appealing tone. This is surely one of those books where you know it is going to be a classic masterpiece at first glance. It delivers so well that I feel as if I am there, in that house along with the characters.
