Alternative Medicine

This book describes the increasing variety of medical treatments that are not taught in Australian universities. Because some patients are disillusioned with standard medical therapy, they are turning to alternative methods. Many doctors have become skilled in these fringe fields such as acupuncture, hypnotherapy, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, spinal manipulation, diet analysis and other routines. Alternative medicine does not replace conventional western therapy but it is often a useful additive and in many cases the results can be strikingly effective.
