Just added a cozy fantasy shelf, and I hope more authors contribute to this new genre. I like the importance of adventure, magic, modern values, relationships, without too much violence or sex. ( ) I went into this book thinking it was a more cozy read. There is conflict spread throughout and I didn't think there was enough focus on the bookshop for it to be considered a cozy read. I liked the relationship between Kianthe and Reyna. I think the dynamic between them was adorable and I liked watching how they interacted with each other in different scenarios. Not exactly a "read in one sitting" book for me, but it was still entertaining. 'Can't Spell Treason Without Tea' is a well-written story about a trope that, until I read it, I didn't realize that I was interested in. As a fledging author myself, I love her writing style, and I plan on keeping her Tomes & Tea stories on my bookshelf—well, except for lending them out on occasion. The characters and their developing relationship seem real, and I enjoyed how she described the different types of magic in the story. Her bits about the dragons brought them to life for me. So, if you are interested in a cozy fantasy steeped with love, try this one. no reviews | add a review
