I don't know why, but I've generally shied away from books about different kinds of vampires. I read their descriptions, I think maybe I'll try it, but I never do.

This book has a movie coming out soon, and I haven't started a new series in a while. In my defense, I have a two year old.

So finally, I decided to start this book. The world has everything. Vampires! Magic! Boarding school! church, and they still have technology and seem to live in the modern world as well as their unique one.

This book was exciting and interesting. I've read a few reviews that indicate that the series improves as you go along too.

I'll read the next one. (

disappointed. I knew as soon as I hit the part where she describes just how beautiful and curvy she is - how she flirts with everyone, kisses any/every one and...just, it was my same complaint with House of Night series([b:Marked / Betrayed / Chosen / Untamed|6167746|Marked / Betrayed / Chosen / Untamed (House of Night, #1-4)|P.C. In order to be a kick butt vampire protector doesn't mean you have to be gorgeous and perfect. It also doesn't mean you have to throw yourself at every instructor, teacher, old/young man/boy within your sight!!! I lost count just how many boys she hooked up with.... I agree with Dimitri - her lack of respect for herself reflected bad on both herself and on Lissa.

The story was interesting, but I just couldn't get beyond my dislike for all the characters.
I also saw the ending a mile off so I just pushed through the last 100 pages to call it good and done. (
