I didn't mind the book, but I thought it was a bit boring to read. It was good at first, and the plot was okay, but later on the book started to get boring, and I feel like the book was dragged on a little bit too long to get to the plot twist. I also think that the "Today is Eddie's Birthday" pages were random and kind of pointless. ( )
I think this book was good, but it was also kind of boring. When it says Eddie's birthday pages, I think that they are not needed, and I get very bored. ( )
It was okay, had to read for school. I wish we knew more about what happened to the little girl. I was shook when we found out who the 5th person was. I really liked the line that was something like "Can I talk to God?" "Oh you can always do that." I'm not sure if that's correct its just off my memory but I thought that was really cute and very true. Overall I liked the book but wouldn't read again and I would maybe recommend. ( )

But that would do an injustice to a book with the genuine power to stir and comfort its readers.
This book is dedicated to Edward Beitchman, my beloved uncle, who gave me my first concept of heaven. Every year, around the Thanksgiving table, he spoke of a night in the hospital when he awoke to see the souls of his departed loved ones sitting on the edge of the bed, waiting for him. I never forgot that story. And I never forgot him. Everyone has an idea of heaven, as do most religions, and they should all be respected. The version represented here is only a guess, a wish, in some ways, that my uncle, and others like him — people who felt unimportant here on earth — realize, finally, how much they mattered and how they were loved.
