William Wooler is an attractive doctor and seems to have it all - a loving wife and two children. And even though Avery is a handful, her parents love her. At least so it seems. William has been having an affair with Nora and they seem to be in love. He suggests that they both leave their spouses but she ends it. Avery ends up getting kicked out of an after school program for being unruly. When her brother goes to get her to walk home together, he is told this and she is nowhere to be seen. He hurries home, hoping that she was just being headstrong and went without him but there is no sign of her when he gets there. Panicking, he calls his mom who rushes home. A hunt ensues, and before you know it you realize that everyone has some lies they are hiding. But, who is telling the truth about Avery? This was a page turner but I do have to say I didn't really care for the ending, leading me to think there may be a sequel. 3 1/2 stars. https://www.instagram.com/p/C66O-rHLoUd/ Shari Lapena - Everyone Here is Lying: This was actually better than I expected of what seemed like a “buy at an airport” type of book. #cursorybookreviews #cursoryreviews This book was tightly written, with chapters from all different vantage points and more and more secrets uncovered as the plot progressed. I was worried that this book was going to be the overused trope of the cheating husband, unhappy wife, missing child, etc., but there were quite a few satisfyingly unexpected twists throwing everything into suspicion. And when the reader is finally privy to the "who" of the whodunit, you realize that the most evil of evils is sometimes where you least expect to find it. no reviews | add a review

I had several issues with the story. What bothered me most and spoilt the read was the fact
I understand thrillers have to be a little farfetched, but I am finding these types of novels very disappointing and should have a genre all of their own called "YAWNERS " ( )
