If you're hoping for a vivid description of what heaven looks like, you won't find it here. The author spends more time describing his recovery from the car accident that killed him (temporarily). It challenges a few things I believe to be true about heaven, but did make me hopeful. It also made me quit whining about my stomach hurting all weekend after reading what this guy had to endure. Don's car was crushed by a semi that crossed into his lane. He died instantly and while his body lay lifeless inside the ruins of his car, he experienced the glories of Heaven, awed by its beauty and music. 90 minutes after the wreck while a minister prayed for him, Piper miraculously returned to life on earth with only the memory of heavenly bliss. His faith in God was severely tested as he faced an uncertain and grueling recovery. Now he shares his story. with you no reviews | add a review

Don Piper is a Baptist parson who was in an accident when a semi- truck hit his car. He was declared dead at the accident scene.
At the end of the book, he writes " I don't have to defend my experience. I know what happened to me. For those whose faith is in the reality of heaven, no amount of evidence is necessary. I know what I experienced."
A very emotional read for me; I usually read one chapter at a time.
Before each chapter there is a scripture.
1-The Accident
2-My Time in Heaven
3-Heavenly Music

A 5 star rating. It is not the first book I have read of people returning. ( )
