"A lone rider rode onto the Diamond H range and introduced himself as Dane. When asked where he was from, he replied, "From down yonder." Despite his cryptic answers, Gordon Hughes, the owner of the Diamond H, decides to hire him as a special hand. Hughes is having problems with rustlers, as well as a boundary dispute with his neighbor Oscar Williams of the Flying W. Dane's job will be to find out who is doing the rustling and find a way to keep peace on the range until Hughes can get his beef shipped. And if he can show Williams that he's being a fool and costing them both money, so much the better. Looking to gather some information about Williams and the Flying W, Dane rides to Black Butte, the nearby town. While there, he has a run-in with Matt Bunker, the foreman of the Flying W. It is clear to Dane that Bunker is a bully and a gunman. Could Bunker possibly be the force behind most of the trouble between the two ranches? Hughes trusts the mysterious Dane, but is he part of the solution or just another complication to deal with?"-- No library descriptions found. |
