It was a little slow at times, but it was needed to build up what happened between Pae and Kai. I cannot wait until the next in the series….why do I have to wait so long?!? ( )

I can completely understand the hit or miss nature of this book when comparing it to Powerless. Powerless was a constant punch of action! It was the banter, the trials, the love triangle, all the things. Reckless was really one dimensional in comparison.

I went into this book having seen the information from Lauren Roberts that this was truly Kai and Pae's story. With that guiding post, I knew it wasn't going to be what Powerless was, so I was not disappointed expecting that. I do think that is where most of the disappointment comes from.

For a vast majority of the book, I really enjoyed the chase that was happening and the struggle of escape. How the battling between capturing Pae also turned into a battle of them fighting their desires. I thought it was really well done. I do feel like the last strife between them was maybe one too many, but it wasn't enough to frustrate me.

The big plot twist at the end, oddly enough, I saw coming. The why is still a mystery that I want to know, but the what I feel as though was pretty easy to spot. I am heartbroken for the two of them though! How do we move on from this???

All in all, I enjoyed reading Reckless. If you enjoyed Powerless, I would still suggest that you read this, but just have the proper expectations going into it.

Can't wait for Fearless to come out to see how this ends! ( )

There's such amazing friction and simultaneous attraction between Paedin and Kai right from the start of this book and it builds so nicely. Add in more narrow escapes and a gut punch at the end and you're set up big time for the third book. ( )
