In this story we get a dark twisted tale that will shatter your heart, fuel your hatred for evil, and give you glimpses of hope for Inessa. From the beginning of this book my heart hurt so bad for the life Inessa was living. Brought into the Bratva at an early age and treated like a slave for most of her life until she got older and was treated worse she was numb to it all. When Niccolo comes in to the story he is out for revenge and that blinds him to a lot even Inessa, but once he realizes he was wrong about her it may be too late. I loved the connection they found together but I hated the betrayal Inessa felt when Niccolo acted the way he did. I found that inside Inessa was such a brave and beautiful soul that no matter what she endured she was a survivor that would overcome. This story carries a lot of darkness so check the trigger warnings. ( )
