Kind of a mixed bag for me -- I continue with my fascination at the kewpie style art. I love the idea of this book, and I like how it resolves. The pacing is very inconsistent, and the characters are also a mixed bag -- they're pretty flat, but the motivations make sense and move the messages along. And maybe that's the issue -- it feels like a pile of messages more that a closely knit narrative; which might work really well for the intended audience (kids these days!). ( )
